Koek & Ei \ GLR graduation project (2009)
Koek & Ei (which translated in english means something like: “everything is allright”) is a Dutch phrase and also the name of my graduation project. I completed this project in collaboration with Christel Harbrink, in the last semester of “Digital Media Design” at the Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam.
Koek & Ei is a rather unique concept. We design t-shirts that belong to each other. As an example: Say we design a t-shirt with the black “Yin” symbol on it, the other shirt would contain the white “Yang” symbol. Both parts of the symbol are unique but together they form the complete image. Thus they belong to each other and make a whole. Our shirts are designed with that concept in mind.
Koek & Ei wants to reach lovers, brothers, sisters, grandparents and best friends etc. People who want to show the world they belong to each other but at the same time are as unique as every other individual.
Together, we completed every step of this project. From the initial concept to the logo and
website design, coding, scouting the right models, doing photo shoots, illustrate the t-shirt designs and presenting the concept to the graduation commission and the audience.
I really enjoyed working on this project and graduated with good grades and a commendation.

Flitz-Events \ Logo (2009)
Flitz-Events, founded by Rogier Minderhoud and Dennis Kila is a company with it’s roots in professional kite-surfing. Flitz-events organizes beach sports and events for company’s and individuals. The events are customized and suited to their clients needs, wishes and time-frame. Flitz-Events provides qualified instructors, sports equipment, food and music. Everything for a perfect and active day at the beach. Events can be planned at the beaches of Kijkduin, Hoek van Holland and Scheveningen.
Flitz-events approached me for their website and logo design. The brief for the logo was a clear one. It needed to be “Legible” and contain the key elements “Water” and “Sports” in some way. They also asked me to keep there core business in mind, which is “Kiting”. For a start they handed me a few logo designs they particularly liked. One of them was the logo of the “Spar” grocery store. The Spar logo has a round icon above their wordmark, and the client asked me to experiment with that for the Flitz-events logo. Hence the results.

Jackson Chang Design \ Internship (2008)
These are some of the projects i worked on during my internship at Jackson Chang Design. Jackson Chang is a design studio specialized in Identity, Branding and Interactive media. The studio is based in The Hague, the Netherlands.
My work and learning process at the studio included brainstorming, initial concepting and design projects done in Adobe illustrator, Photoshop and Indesign. Most of the works selected and displayed here are all printed and used in a commercial way. Besides the above, i have also learned the basics of client management, how to write a design brief and some killer sandwich recipes.
I have thoroughly enjoyed my time at Jackson Chang, a small studio with powerful designs, great clients and a professional crew.
