Koek & Ei \ GLR graduation project (2009)
Koek & Ei (which translated in english means something like: “everything is allright”) is a Dutch phrase and also the name of my graduation project. I completed this project in collaboration with Christel Harbrink, in the last semester of “Digital Media Design” at the Grafisch Lyceum Rotterdam.
Koek & Ei is a rather unique concept. We design t-shirts that belong to each other. As an example: Say we design a t-shirt with the black “Yin” symbol on it, the other shirt would contain the white “Yang” symbol. Both parts of the symbol are unique but together they form the complete image. Thus they belong to each other and make a whole. Our shirts are designed with that concept in mind.
Koek & Ei wants to reach lovers, brothers, sisters, grandparents and best friends etc. People who want to show the world they belong to each other but at the same time are as unique as every other individual.
Together, we completed every step of this project. From the initial concept to the logo and
website design, coding, scouting the right models, doing photo shoots, illustrate the t-shirt designs and presenting the concept to the graduation commission and the audience.
I really enjoyed working on this project and graduated with good grades and a commendation.
